The next year is going to be the 10th anniversary of the iPhone and the rumours are that Apple is planning something special for 2018. While the earlier leaks of iPhone 8 — or will it be iPhone 7S — suggested that it won’t have any home button, the latest rumour hints that the iPhone 8 will come with 5-inch screen.
Apple’s latest iPhone 7 comes with 4.7-inch screen size whereas the larger version 7 Plus has a 5.5-inch screen. The new rumour also suggests that this time the iPhone 8 will have three sizes: 4.7-inch, 5-inch and 5.5-inch.
Although, no one is exactly sure of this at the moment. Apple Insider, site that covers Apple news, has denied rumours and notes that the company will stick to its trend of unveiling the iPhone in only two sizes.
“It seems unlikely, however, that Apple would muddy its smartphone lineup by shoehorning a tweener model between its two existing flagships. In terms of usability and features, there is arguably little benefit in moving up from 4.7 inches, or down from 5.5 inches, to a middle of the road 5-inch screen,” notes the site.
Earlier reports have hinted that the iPhone 8 will have an OLED display, covering the entire face of the phone. The iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus are also expected to have a glass back instead of aluminum, and metal finish on the outer edges just like the iPhone 4.
